Por vezes, somos "sacudidos" quando menos esperamos. Não são poucas as vezes em que as nossas expectativas relativamente a um ou outro trabalho saem defraudadas, mas há casos em que acabamos por ser surpreendidos quando menos esperamos. Afinal, a música até acaba por ser um pouco isso mesmo, ou então seria demasiado previsível e enfadonha.
Com base neste intróito, já todos devem ter percebido que estes ingleses (pois, acreditamos que é algo que lhes deve correr no sangue!) constituem mais uma boa proposta nas toadas mais tradicionais do doom metal. De facto, esta estreia não poderia ser mais auspiciosa; quatro temas que respiram o legado de Tony Iommi por todos os poros e vão buscar mais algumas influências aos Reverend Bizarre, Spiritus Mortis ou até mesmo a uns Cathedral, ali por alturas do "Ethereal Mirror". São quatro temas negros, poderosos, monolíticos, que pela sua coesão e elevada qualidade de composição, nos parecem mostrar um colectivo muito bem entrosado e com ideias muito bem definidas quanto ao caminho que querem seguir com este projecto e o som que querem para os seus temas: cheio, grave, pesado, sem perder a sua definição ou qualidade.
O registo inicia-se num registo que não nos deixa indiferentes; "The Sin and Doom of Godless Men" principia com um riff muito bem sacado, que nos guia até Dan Tibbals, num timbre que nos relembra Albert Witchfinder, mas com um ligeiro travo a stoner, mais árido e duro.
"The Emissary" continua numa toada bem dolorosa, mas aqui é possível ouvir alguns solos, bem conseguidos e que encaixam na sonoridade da banda, não pretendendo um notório realce, mas antes deixam-se diluir na torrente sonora. Quanto a "Summon the Rune Wizard", acaba por ser um pouco mais na linha de "The Sin...", reforçando a ideia que os Gallow God sabem escrever boas canções e que o fazem como se já andassem por estas andanças há vários anos.
Para terminar, uma dúzia de minutos que resumem tudo o que anteriormente se ouviu; "Ship of Nails" - com a devida intro marítima -, será, porventura, o melhor deste EP. É o resumo e a indicação de algo mais; a busca de novos espaços e as vocalizações típicas do death metal fazem aqui a sua aparição, dando uma maior amplitude a um tema colossal.
As estreias, por vezes, têm o condão de nos surpreender e no caso deste "False Mystical Prose" não poderíamos ficar melhor impressionados. Resta-nos aguardar pelas novas discorrências sonoras, para breve, assim o desejamos. (14.8/20)

Sometimes we are "shaken" when we least expect. There are few times when our expectations for either work out disappointed, but there are cases where we shall be surprised when you least expect it. After all, the music turns out to be a bit of that, or else it would be too predictable and boring.
On basis of this introduction, you all must have realized that these Englishmen (yes, we believe that it is something that must run on their blood!) appoint to be one more good proposal in the most traditional melodies of doom metal. In fact, this first release might not be more auspicious; four songs that breathe the legacy of Tony Iommi through all the pores and go more for some influences like Reverend Bizarre, Spiritus Mortis or even Cathedral, round about heights of the "Ethereal Mirror" album. It is four black, mighty, monolithic themes, which for their cohesion and elevated quality of composition, seems to us to show a very well integrated collective one and with ideas very well defined as for the way that want to follow with this project and the sound they want for their work: full, powerful, heavy, without losing his definition or quality.
This EP begins in a register that does not leave us indifferent; "The Sin and Doom of Godless Men" begins with a very well withdrawn riff, that guides up to Dan Tibbals, in an insignia that recalls us Albert Witchfinder, but with a light bitterness to stoner, more arid and hard.
"The Emissary" continues in a quite painful melody, but here it is possible to hear some solos, quite nice ones that fit in the sonority of the band, not claiming a well-known emphasis, but before they are let dilute in the resonant torrent. As for "Summon the Rune Wizard", it is again a little more in the line of "The Sin ...", reinforcing the idea that Gallow God can write good songs and they do it in a way like they were already walking for these wanderings for several years.
To end, a dozen of minutes that summarize everything that previously was heard; "Ship of Nails" - with the owed sound of the sea intro-, will be, by chance, the best of this EP. It is the summary and the indication of something more; the search of new spaces and the typical vocalizations of the death metal do here their apparition, giving a bigger amplitude to a colossal release.
The first nights, for times, have the privilege to surprise us and in case of this "False Mystical Prose" we might not be better impressed. We still have to wait for new tunes, soon, so we want it. (14.8/20)
