Wreck Of The Hesperus - Light Rotting Out (2011)

English:
Over the years, the Irish Wreck Of The Hesperus accustomed us two things: first, to wait for extreme records. Second, we do not know how extreme can be a novelty from this tantalizing trio of souls. It's been like this since the demo 'Terminal Dirge' or, if you prefer, the EP 'Eulogy For The Sewer Dwellers' and following flashes of activity are the proof that the band from Dublin strengthens its position in the Irish and European metal scene.
Arrived in 2011, the three themes that compose this 'Light Rotting Out' confirm the above and also the increased degree of musical insanity and visceral patent in each discharge or ranted by AC Rottt. This rotting sounds settles over the 40 minutes in huge doses, direct and incisive, as in the case of 'Kill The Monument' and 'People Cess Pit'. The third and last song, 'The Holy Rheum', divided in two parts, is slightly more restrained – in the lack of a better term - where there is room for unlocking the introduction of a saxophone in 'I - Night Of Negative Stars ', densifying the existing unhealthy climate and the presence, quiet but very magnanimous in their tone of preacheroftheapocalypse, Albert Witchfinder, in the second part,' II - Hologram Law ', where the lyrics are nothing more than an adaptation of Psalm 102. Nevertheless, it doesn’t comes off the first two astonishing tracks, showing that 'Light Rotting Out' is, in our opinion, the band's most accomplished work and that can advertise as one of the top list of current projects of the more extreme fringes of Doom Metal . To say that we are facing a Funeral Doom album is very reductive, because here they embrace styles like Sludge, the rude and gross, or Ambient/Drone, giving a somewhat apocalyptic and obscure tone to the songs.
Together with Murkrat, this may be one of the albums that most caught our attention this year and, interestingly, achieves the market with the seal of the British Aesthetic Death, who prepared a very special artwork for this work, worthy piece of collection. (17.5/20)
